Durham College Athletics

OSHAWA, Ont. – Alyssa Navarro (Oshawa, Ont.) of the women's basketball team and Funsho Dimeji (Malton, Ont.) of the men's basketball team have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 25.
 
Dimeji, a recreation and leisure studies student, had 19 points, 13 rebounds and two steals in Durham's final regular season game on Tuesday against the Centennial Colts. On Sunday in their OCAA crossover game against the Fanshawe Falcons, Dimeji hit a key three-pointer late in the game to make it a one-possession game with Durham down 61-59. Unfortunately, Fanshawe held on to eliminate the Lords in back-to-back seasons. Dimeji finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the year. The game also marked Dimeji's final OCAA game of his career after playing five seasons between Humber, Loyalist and Durham Colleges.
 
The Durham College athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
