Pereira, a third-year dental assisting student, was a key piece to the Lords softball team capturing their 21st provincial championship banner this past weekend at the 2021 OCAA women's softball championship. The lead-off batter was sensational at the plate all tournament long being named Championship MVP after going 12-for-17 with six RBI and six runs. This was highlighted by a 5-for-5 outing in the gold medal game on Saturday afternoon, scoring an RBI and a run in the banner winning effort. In addition to providing a lead-off bat for the Lords, Pereira was also exceptional defensively in centre field, making crucial catches and holding up several would-be scoring runs with her quick coverage of the outfield in Windsor. The Lords also played their regular season finale doubleheader last Monday, with Pereira finishing her season going 3-for-5 with one RBI and four runs between the two wins for DC. She was named an OCAA league all-star for the second season in a row finishing the regular season with 22 hits, including three triples, eight walks, 11 RBI, 19 runs, three stolen bases, along with a .393 batting average and .462 on-base percentage.
