UOIT and Durham College student-athletes giving back during the holiday season


OSHAWA, Ont. - The UOIT Ridgebacks and the Durham Lords are looking forward to providing some holiday cheer this festive season as they are collecting donations for the campus wide holiday food drive.

Beginning Thursday, November 21, at each UOIT and Durham College home game, the student-athletes are asking for spectators to bring along a non-perishable food item or items to help support those less fortunate.

At the men's hockey game on Friday, November 22, there will also be a chuck-a-puck contest, where one lucky fan will win Toronto Maple Leafs tickets.

With each food donation, there will be free admission to the game. The campus-wide holiday food drive provides hampers of food to families of students in need, helping make the holidays a little happier.

The athletic department and all the student-athletes are looking forward to a successful holiday run with contribution to their respective sports as well as to the community. If you would like to make a donation, here is a list of some upcoming games:
