OCAA Men's BasketballDurham College defeats Georgian 84-70 BARRIE, Ont. – This week was huge for the Durham College men's basketball team as they defeated the two teams that handed them their first half losses.
The No. 14 ranked Lords opened the week with a 90-72 victory over the Centennial Colts on Tuesday and followed that with an 84-70 win over the Georgian Grizzlies on Friday night.
Aaron Hayles (Pickering, Ont.) was a major part of that as he had a season high 18 points on Tuesday, but topped that again on Friday with 21.
Eric Smith (Ajax, Ont.) led the Lords with a double-double, 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Dylan Pelissero (Oshawa, Ont.) picked up 14, while
Darian Rowe (Maple, Ont.) added 12 points.
Jonathan Edwards led Georgian with 22 points, while Teq Zwarych was one point off a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.
Durham now holds a six-point lead over Georgian for first in the OCAA East Division with both teams having four games left to play in the regular season. The Lords next game is Wednesday in Kingston against St. Lawrence.
