OSHAWA, Ont. – Mike Adamo's only basket in the second half was a big one as it was the difference in the Fleming Knight's 68-66 victory over the Durham College men's basketball team on Friday night.
The basket came for the Knights with 3.6 seconds remaining in the game. Durham called a timeout, getting possession in Fleming's territory. On the inbound the Knights defence was too much for the Lords as their attempt at tying the game came up short.
Fleming led the game 24-19 after the opening quarter, but at halftime Durham had bounced back after a big eight-point second quarter by
Darian Rowe (Maple, Ont.) to lead 38-35.
The Knights edged closer through three to trail 52-50. They kept their momentum going in the fourth, with Taylor Robinson scoring 12 of his team-leading 22 points for Fleming in the half as his team defeating the Lords 68-66.
Rowe led the Lords with 24 points, while
Alessio Del Gobbo (North York, Ont.) continued to big for Durham by adding 16 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
Durham will now have the week off as they prepare for the Algonquin Thunder to visit Oshawa on Nov. 20 and La Cité on Nov. 21.
