OSHAWA, Ont. – After upsetting the Algonquin Thunder on Friday, the Durham College men's basketball team were unable to carry their momentum forward to Saturday against the first-place La Cité Coyotes.
The Coyotes defeated the Lords 71-38 to remain as the lone undefeated team in the OCAA as they improved to 8-0. Durham dropped to 3-5 with the loss, tied with a Canadore and Seneca in the middle of the pack in the OCAA east division.
Rashaun Bennett (Scarborough, Ont.) had 10 points in the loss for Durham.
Daniel Garcia led La Cité with 22 points, while Hess Mayele was one assist off a triple-double as he picked up 17 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists for the Coyotes.
Durham will not play again at home until Tuesday, Jan. 19 as they hit the road for the remainder of the first half of the season. They're in Scarborough on Friday to face the Centennial Colts before travelling to Kingston to face the St. Lawrence Vikings on Dec. 2.
