OSHAWA, Ont. - Hosting some of the best from across the OCAA, the Durham Lords men's basketball team dropped their final two games of the annual David Stewart Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
The Lords opened Day 2 with a 87-79 loss to the Lambton Lions. Returning veteran
Romareo Stephenson (Markham, Ont.) led the way with 26 points as four players hit double-digits in the early morning contest. First-year Lords
Roy Anku (Edmonton, Alta.),
Gabriel Andre (Ottawa, Ont.) and
Tyrique Walters tallied 14, 13, and 12, respectively.Â
In the teams second game of the day, and the final contest of the exhibition series, DC fell 85-62 to the George Brown Huskies. George Brown dominated in their three games at the CRWC, finishing with a tournament high +84 over three wins. All four Lords from the first game reached double-digits once again despite the loss, with Andre recording a team-high 14.
Durham will finish their preseason with a home doubleheader alongside the women's team against the Niagara Knights on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Tip-off for the women is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m.
