TORONTO, Ont. - Facing off against the host George Brown Huskies, the Durham Lords men's basketball team fell 70-67 in the GBC Classic semifinal on Saturday afternoon in Toronto.
A back-and-forth contest, the Lords led by 16 into the third quarter. However, the Huskies were able to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter outscoring DC 25-9 in the period. Veteran forward
Romareo Stephenson (Markham, Ont.) led the Lords with 23 points in the semifinal, while freshmen
Gabriel Andre (Ottawa, Ont.) and
Tyrique Walters (Brampton, Ont.) added 16 and 10, respectively. For the second consecutive game guard
Nathanial Parker (Ajax, Ont.) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Following the annual exhibition tournament, DC will return to regular season action hosting the Loyalist Lancers on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Tip-off at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre is set for 8 p.m. with the game also streamed on
