LONDON, ON - Traveling to London for an exhibition tilt with the Western Mustangs on Monday, the Lords fell 3-0 in their first preseason action ahead of the OCAA season opener this upcoming weekend.
The Lords were shutout on the scoreboard, with veteran leadoff hitter
Alexis Pereira (Newmarket, ON) picking up the lone hit off a very tough matchup versus Western pitcher Aimee Leduc.
DC received a strong pitching effort as well though from returning second-year standout
Sydney Redick (Alvinston, ON). In three innings of action Redick eanrned two strikeouts, while allowing just two hits and two earned runs. First-year pitcher
Morgan Salter (Battersea, ON) appeared in relief, also going three innings with two strikeouts, allowing just one hit.
The Lords will make the trip back to London this weekend as Fanshawe will host a group of OCAA teams in season openers, with the Lords challenging St. Clair at 12 p.m., followed by Conestoga at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18.
