OSHAWA, ON – The Durham Lords women's softball team begin the day with a 2-1 win over the visiting Fanshawe Falcons.
 
The scoring opened in the second inning when Sydney Redick (Alvinston, ON) scored on a wild pitch to give the Lords a 1-0 lead. Fanshawe replied in the in the top of the fourth when the batter was walked with the bases loaded to advance a runner to home from third.
 
In the bottom half of the inning, Hannah Oke (Brooklin, ON) reached second base and Abi Suffel (Whitby, ON) scored to take the lead back in Durham's favour.
 
It continued to be a pitchers' duel through the remainder of the game, with the Lords coming out on top 2-1.
 
Jocelyn Shelton (Aylmer, ON) hit 2-for-3 in the game, while Redick and Oke also registered hits.
 
Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, ON) struckout nine batters in the afternoon, going all seven innings. Throwing a total of 110 pitches, Glendinning only allowed three hits.
 
The Lords are back at it at 3:00 PM on Sunday afternoon as the Lords host the Conestoga Condors.
