Box Score 2 WINDSOR, ON – The Durham Lords faced their toughest competition of the season on Sunday, losing twice to the undefeated St. Clair Saints on the road.
St. Clair scored a pair of runs in the first inning and added another pair in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. They doubled their lead with another four runs in the bottom of the fourth and ultimately came out on top 8-0.
Abi Suffel (Whitby, ON) had a hot bat in the game, generating two of her sides three runs in the game with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate. Sydney Redick (Alvinston, ON) also registered a hit.
In the second game, both teams held each other scoreless until the third inning when the Saints scored one on an error. St. Clair would add six more runs in the fourth, including a two-run home run to make it 7-0 – what would be the final score.
Grace Hearns (Napanee, ON), Ryleigh Easton (Bowmanville, ON) and Jocelyn Shelton (Aylmer, ON) all made contact at the plate in the game, recording the teams' three hits.
Durham return home from a six-game road trip to host the Mohawk Mountaineers in a doubleheader on Wednesday, September 28.
