OSHAWA, ON - The Durham College women's soccer team extend their winning streak to five matches with a 1-0 win over the George Brown Huskies.
Following a ceremony honouring former head coach Alex Bianchi, the game got underway and highlighted a Lords team dominating in the possession category.
That quick possession paid off early as Erin Michalicka (Pickering, ON) scored her third goal of the season with an early second minute shot to find the back of the net.
Michalicka's goal would be the only one in the game as it was followed by 88 minutes of tight defensive play. Durham outshot the Huskies 15-4 in the match, with six shots on target for the Lords.
Kelsa O'Donoghue (Ajax, ON) picked up the clean sheet, turning aside two shots.
The Lords hit the road next as they play Centennial Colts on Saturday, October 7 at 1:00 PM.
