OSHAWA, ON - Playing their final home matches of the season, the Durham College women's rugby team blanked the Loyalist Lancers and Fleming Phoenix to remain unbeaten.
Durham opened day two of the season's second weekend against the Lancers and won convincingly by a 39-0 score.
Emily Cooper (Guelph, ON) and Sierra Persaud (Ajax, ON) each battled their way to a pair of tries, while Maya Austin (Ajax, ON), Shay Morris (Ajax, ON) and Hayden Venedam (Port Perry, ON) scored one each. Persaud added two successfully kicked converts.
Morris scored three more tries in the following game against Fleming en route to a 44-0 shutout victory. Austin, Cooper, Venedam, Danika Johnston (Courtice, ON) and Camryn Wood (Uxbridge, ON) also scored in the match.
From the spot, Morris successfully converted on a pair of kicks.
With all teams having played seven games in the first two weekends, the Lords sit on top of the OCAA standings with a 7-0 record, 285 points for, 0 points against.
The Lords travel to Etobicoke next Saturday where they will play a trio of matches against the Seneca Sting, Conestoga Condors and Humber Hawks.
