OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's soccer team will move onto the quarter-final round of the 2024 OCAA Men's Soccer Championship after a 5-1 win at home over the St. Lawrence Surge on Wednesday.
Christopher Badibengi had two goals as the half hour mark passed, scoring in the 21st minute followed by a 31st minute goal to double the lead.
Barely five minutes after coming back out from the halftime break, the Surge put the ball past the keeper to cut their deficit to one.
Nearly half an hour passed without a goal, before Saail Swan added to the lead, Badibengi scored his third for the hat trick and Dominic Legall joined the scoring party within minutes of each other to secure a convincing victory.
With the win, the Lords will travel to Mississauga on Saturday to take on the 7-1-2 Sheridan Bruins who finished second in the west. Sheridan advance to the quarter-finals following a 2-0 win over the St. Clair Saints.
