KINGSTON, Ont. - The Durham College men's basketball team improve to 9-0 on the season after a commanding 99-52 win over the St. Lawrence Surge.

Thanks in part to a hot start from Jasean Elliott, who scored eight points in the opening quarter, the visiting Lords jumped ahead to an early 21-13 lead after 10 minutes of play. 

Mark Stoop could not miss in the second quarter, going 4-for-4 from the field and 1-for-1 from the line to score nine points in the frame, extending Durham's lead to 11 by halftime.

In the second half, everything changed as the Lords outscored the Surge 52-16 in the final 20 minutes of action for the 47-point victory.

Five Lords reached double-digit territory in points, led by Miles Hall who scored 18.

In 21 minutes of play, Rudy Fakih finished the afternoon with 14 points, six rebounds and five steals. Elliott recorded 13 points, six assists, three rebounds and three steals in 22 minutes of play.

Durham benefited from a 54.3% shooting percentage, as well as having forced 28 turnovers on the defensive side of the ball.

The Lords will host the George Brown Huskies on Wednesday, November 27 at 8:00 PM before heading into the holiday break.
