Lords season falls short in Windsor

WINDSOR, ON - Falling 75-37 to the St. Clair Saints, the Durham College women's basketball season ends at the qualifying stage of the 2024 OCAA Women's Basketball Championship.

Durham led the way early on, with Emma Bergen (La Crete, AB) opening the scoring in her first game back in the lineup followed by a successful layup from Onika Leveridge (Scarborough, ON) to lead through the majority of the first quarter.

St. Clair worked their way to a 6-3 run in the final three minutes to lead 14-13 the Saints.

In the second quarter, the Saints began to build a massive lead as they put up 20 points while holding the Lords to only seven. Going into halftime, the Lords knew they had an uphill battle to climb as they trailed 34-20.

Coming out of halftime, the Saints held the Lords to six points in the third quarter while adding another 18. The fourth quarter was much of the same as it would be the hosts clinching a spot in the quarter-final at the end of the day.

Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, ON) led the team in points with 13, adding three rebounds and a steal to her line.

Bergen and Leveridge both had double-digit points with each scoring 10. Bergen grabbed eight boards and Leveridge had seven.
