Box Score 4 WINDSOR, Ont. – The top-ranked Durham College women's softball team extended their unbeaten streak to 18-0 with four victories over the weekend, including two hard-fought games against the reigning national champions, St. Clair Saints.
The Lords have now outscored opponents 196-37 and will close their regular season with six consecutive games at Babcock Field, starting with a Wednesday night doubleheader against Conestoga Condors.
Game 1: Durham 19, Lambton 0
Durham's offense exploded in a dominant 19-0 win over Lambton. Gracie Hearns led the way, going 4-for-4 with a triple and a double. The Lords had a 10-run fourth inning, fueled by extra-base hits from Hearns,
Chelsea Oke,
Jocelyn Shelton, and
Emily Taylor. Starting pitcher
Morgan Salter earned the win, throwing three hitless innings with two strikeouts.
Hannah Oke closed out the game, maintaining the no-hitter.
Game 2: Durham 15, Lambton 4
Durham followed up with another offensive display, winning 15-4.
Vanessa Ng drew three walks, contributing to the Lords' 11 free passes in the game.
Peyton Jones was solid on the mound, allowing just two runs over four innings. At the plate,
Hannah Oke led the charge with four RBIs, while Oke, Shelton, and Ng all had multi-hit games. Durham's aggressive baserunning resulted in three stolen bases.
Game 3: Durham 9, St. Clair 8
In a thrilling game against St. Clair, Durham built an early 5-run lead and held off a late Saints rally for a 9-8 victory.
Chelsea Oke and
Peyton Jones homered, each driving in two runs. The Lords took the lead in the third inning when Jones hit a two-run homer. Despite a shaky finish,
Makayla Benz earned the win, pitching three and two-thirds innings, allowing three earned runs.
Hannah Oke secured the save as St. Clair's comeback bid fell short.
Game 4: Durham 3, St. Clair 0
The weekend concluded with a 3-0 shutout win over St. Clair.
Chelsea Oke was stellar in the circle, pitching six and one-third scoreless innings, allowing just six hits and striking out four.
Emily Taylor and
Peyton Jones provided timely hits, with Taylor's RBI single in the second inning putting Durham on the board. The Lords' defense was sharp, turning a double play and committing no errors in the game.
Durham heads into their final regular season stretch undefeated, looking to carry their momentum into the postseason.
