OSHAWA, Ont. - The women's volleyball team put up a strong fight but ultimately fell to the La Cité Coyotes in a four-set match at home.
The final scores were 25-16, 27-29, 23-25, and 16-25, with Durham starting strong but unable to maintain momentum as La Cite rallied to secure the win.
Chelsea Oke led the Lords with 16 kills on 45 attempts, hitting .244 and adding 13 digs and two service aces.
Jessie Buck also made a significant impact, contributing six kills on 18 attempts with a .278 hitting percentage. Buck was dominant at the net, recording four blocks and two aces, providing crucial defensive stops throughout the match.
Brooke Young facilitated the Lords' offence, tallying 26 assists and adding four digs. Kate Quemby was active on both ends, delivering seven kills and 20 digs.
Tia Chang contributed five kills and three solo blocks, adding to Durham's defensive presence at the net. Jayde Smyth anchored the backline with 20 digs, tying Quemby for the team lead.
Despite Durham's solid play early, La Cité capitalized on errors and improved their offensive efficiency in the later sets.
The Lords will wrap up their regular season at home on Sunday at 1:00 PM against the Algonquin Wolves.
