OTTAWA, Ont. - Durham took care of business in Ottawa on a snowy Sunday afternoon, sweeping the La Cité Coyotes in straight sets to extend their winning steak to eight.
The Lords controlled the match from start to finish, holding La Cité to 14, 11 and 13 points across the three sets.
Durham's serve put constant pressure on the home side, finishing with a combined 12 aces, while the offence stayed efficient throughout the match.
Erin Black paced the attack with 18 assists, spreading the ball effectively and keeping La Cité off balance.
Several Lords chipped in offensively, led by five kills each from Maxine Felsbourg, Veronika Cavojska, Peyton Jones and Chelsea Oke. Felsbourg and Cavojska were reliable from the service line, serving five and four aces, respectively.
On-top of her team leading 10.0 points, Felsbourg also led the squad in digs with seven.
At the net, Lyndsay Boon made her presence felt with three solo blocks, helping Durham limit La Cité to 11 total kills on the afternoon. Boon also added four kills and an assist.
It will be a battle of the top two teams in the OCAA's east division on Wednesday, January 28, as the Lords host the Seneca Sting at 6 p.m.
