Coleman and Marshall named athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Nick Coleman (Brooklin, Ont.) and Allison Marshall (Orillia, Ont.) have been named the Durham College athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Jan. 31.
Coleman, an architectural technology major, put up a wall on Friday night in the Lords victory over the Algonquin Thunder as he had 13 blocks, which crushed his season-high of six. Coleman also picked up 11 kills in the 3-2 win at Algonquin. On Saturday against La Cité he led the team in blocks again with three, while adding seven kills.
Marshall, a first-year sport management student, killed it over the weekend with 33 kills over two matches in Ottawa. The Orillia native had a game-high 16 points (14 kills, service ace, block) in Saturday’s win over La Cité, which followed her 19 kill and two block performance on Friday night in their five-set win against Algonquin.
Durham volleyball teams will now host the Fleming Knights on Tuesday, Feb. 2. The women’s match is at 6 p.m. followed by the men’s match at 8 p.m.
