Lords trio take home Durham College athlete of the week awards
OSHAWA, Ont. – Richie Khasow, Brittney Sero and Laura Arbour have been named the Durham College athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza - North Oshawa.
This marks the second consecutive week that Brittney Sero (Newcastle, Ont.) has won the student-athlete of the week award. The fitness and health promotion major scored four goals in two victories this past week including a hat-trick against the Cambrian Golden Shield. Sero has scored six goals in her last three games and is in the hunt for the OCAA scoring title.
Richie Khasow of the men’s soccer team scored his first two OCAA goals in two Durham victories this week. The Ajax native scored the game-winning goal against Fleming College on Tuesday night and scored a single goal in a 3-0 win over the Cambrian Golden Shield. Durham is 3-1-0 this season having outscored their opponents 9-2.
Laura Arbour (Whitby, Ont.) has had an outstanding start to her OCAA women’s fastball career as she leads the league with a .667 batting average. Last week against Conestoga and Mohawk, she was 8-for-13 at the plate. In the Lords two wins, she scored six times and drove in three RBIs.
