Mowat and Fischer named Durham College student-athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Kate Mowat (Whitby, Ont.) and David Fischer (Oshawa, Ont.) have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending on Oct. 27.
Mowat, a member of the women’s basketball team, recorded a double-double in her OCAA debut against the Seneca Sting. Mowat registered 20 points and added 10 rebounds in the Lords 80-69 victory over their east region rivals. She was only two assists shy of a triple-double as she had eight in the season opening victory.
Fischer, a catcher on the men’s baseball team, was a defensive standout for the Lords in the inaugural OUA/OCAA championship. The digital video production major threw out four base runners against the OUA’s Laurier Golden Hawks and Brock Badgers.
