OSHAWA, Ont. – Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, Ont.) of the women’s volleyball team and Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.) of the women’s basketball team have been named Durham College student-athletes of the week for the period ending January 28.
Terwillegar, a second-year graphic design student, helped lead the Lords to their 3-1 record in their four matches in six days. She finished the week with 28 kills, 10 aces, three blocks and 41 points offensively, while earning 24 digs defensively. Over 13 sets, Terwillegar finished the week averaging 3.2 points per set. Her 12 kills on Saturday against Algonquin and five aces on Sunday against La Cité were also career-high numbers.
For volleyball, their only match is Saturday in North Bay against the Canadore Panthers. Their final regular season game is Thursday, Feb. 8 against the Fleming Knights.
The Durham College athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
