McKellar, a second-year biotechnology major, proved to be a reliable bat and defensive presence for the Durham Lords in their perfect 4-0 start to the season this past weekend. In DC's season opening doubleheader against the St. Clair Saints in Windsor on Saturday, McKellar was a combined 5-for-8 at the plate, producing four RBI on two singles and four doubles. The incredible performance helped the Lords to impressive back-to-back victories over the rival Saints, who the Lords have matched up with in the last three consecutive OCAA gold medal games. Despite a tougher day at the plate in another two wins for the Lords over the Fanshawe Falcons on Sunday, McKellar was strong defensively at third base, delivering three put-outs at the hot corner, along with crossing the plate as a run once offensively.
