Durham men's volleyball rebounds with two wins after a tough start in Welland
WELLAND, Ont. – The Durham College men's volleyball team managed to turn things around at the Niagara Winter Classic as they earned a pair of victories on Saturday.
Durham began the day with a 3-1 victory over the George Brown Huskies that was followed up with a 3-0 sweep over the Georgian Grizzlies in the consolation round.
The win over George Brown on Saturday is a good sign for the Lords as their only loss in the first semester came against the Huskies in Toronto.
The Lords started the tournament with a pair of losses, falling to Fanshawe 3-0 and the University of Toronto 3-1 on Friday.
The Lords head into the second half of the season with an 8-1 conference record and are tied with the Algonquin Thunder for first place in the OCAA east region.
Durham will resume conference action on Thursday night when they host the Loyalist Lancers (6-3). First serve at the CRWC is 8 p.m. following the women's game.
