OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's volleyball program is welcoming a key addition to its roster with the signing of setter Noah Collins for the upcoming season.
Coming to DC from Bowmanville, Collins brings a competitive edge and a steady hand to the court, qualities that stood out to the Lords' coaching staff from the start.
Collins has already built a reputation as a reliable playmaker and a calm presence under pressure. Standing at six feet tall, he adds both skill and poise to a Durham squad looking to build on its foundation.
"Any time you can add a local athlete to your program, it's special," said Head Coach Dwayne Cochrane. "Noah has been playing volleyball in our own backyard, and we've had the chance to watch his development closely. We're excited to keep that local talent here at Durham and see him continue to grow in our program."
Before joining Durham, Collins suited up for the Durham Attack Blast, where he sharpened his skills and developed into a confident leader on the floor.
His proudest moment to date came when his team finished third at nationals, an experience that taught him the value of resilience and teamwork at the highest level.
As a setter, he understands the importance of connecting with hitters, maintaining tempo and keeping opponents off-balance. Those attributes, combined with his calm demeanor, make him an ideal fit for the Lords' system.
With his first collegiate season on the horizon, Collins is eager to get to work. He's focused on building relationships with his new teammates, learning the system and doing whatever it takes to help the team succeed.
On track to graduate from Clarington Central Secondary School this fall, Collins will be studying in the Electrical Engineering Technician program in September.
