St. Lawrence defeats Durham 89-70 OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team couldn't claw their way back on Friday night against the St. Lawrence Vikings as they lost 89-70 in their final game of October.
Durham opened the scoring, but the Vikings quickly took control and led 20-11 after the first quarter.
Four minutes into the second quarter they led by the same spread, this time 26-17.
They wouldn't extend their lead by much heading into halftime, but still were ahead 42-32.
The Vikings opened up their lead in the third quarter, but Durham came back to within nine points with 4:11 on the clock. St. Lawrence took control again, leading 64-46 after three.
In Durham's best quarter of the game, the fourth, they scored 24 points, but the Vikings bested them again, with 25 points of their own.
Lindsay Panchan led the Lords in scoring with 37 points, over half of her team's total. She also led the team in rebounds with six.
Kayla Marshall added 14 points, while Alyxandra Francisco was second on the team in rebounds with five.
Hanna Koposhynska led the Vikings offensively with 20 points and tied Blythe Gutelius to lead the team with seven rebounds.
