Algonquin defeats Durham College 83-55 OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball game came up short against the No. 4 ranked Algonquin Thunder on Friday night, losing their first meeting of the season 83-55.
After the first quarter the two teams were tied 20-20, but at half Algonquin had pulled ahead 46-31.
The Thunder won each of the final two quarters, 21-15 and 16-9 to continue their perfect 4-0 start to the regular season.
Lindsay Panchan led the Lords with 25 points, four assists and eight rebounds.
Hellen Dumbuya added 16 points of her own, while leading Durham with 11 rebounds.
Francesca Bellehumeur-Moya led Algonquin's scoring with 23 points. Felicia Mazerolle added 17 points, with Jesa Rada picking up 12 points.
