Durham College defeats Algonquin 3-0 OTTAWA, Ont. – Durham College continues to dominate in OCAA men's volleyball play this season.
The No. 10 ranked team had only lost two sets heading into Friday night's match on the road against Seneca College. The Lords didn't lose one to the Sting though, taking the match 3-0.
Durham won the opening set 25-16, but Seneca pushed back in the second. The Lords won it by a pair, 25-23. The third set ended 25-18.
Jeremy Hoekstra had nine kills to lead the Lords, while Matt McGirr had two service aces and eight kills of his own.
Petrus Kuypers and
Erik Janssen each had seven kills apiece.
Hoekstra is now two blocks from moving into second place all-time in the Lords history books. He currently has 84 in his career with Durham College.
Luke Amos led Algonquin with 11 kills, while Mozafar Abdoli was huge at the net with six blocks.
No. 3 ranked Mohawk hosts No. 6 ranked Humber on Saturday, while Durham College faces La Cité (0-4).
