Durham College defeats Seneca 61-49 OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team got back in the win column on Friday night with a 61-49 victory over the Seneca Sting.
After the first quarter the Lords led 18-16. Heading into halftime they extended the gap to seven, taking a 31-24 lead into the break.
In the third quarter they outscored Seneca again, this time 16-8. They lost the fourth quarter 17-14, but were still strong enough to earn the win over the Sting.
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.) led the Lords with 24 points, with
Kayla Marshall (Ottawa, Ont.) scoring 14 to lift Durham College to their second win of the season.
Hellen Dumbuya (Whitby, Ont.) had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Lords.
Going into the game Marshall needed only four points to reach 300 in her career at Durham College, which she easily achieved. Panchan passed the 100-point mark with the Lords against Seneca, a feat she accomplished in four games.
