OCAA Women's Basketball: Durham defeated Fleming 61-44
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team moved one step closer to clinching a playoff spot as the Lords earned a 61-44 road win over the Fleming Knights.
Durham moves into sole possession of fourth place in the OCAA east region with a 6-4 record, leading the Loyalist Lancers (5-4) by two points. Georgian and Seneca are trying to play catch up down the stretch as they have matching 4-6 records.
Kayla Marshall (Ottawa, Ont.) had a 23-point performance in the win, leading both teams in scoring. This is the first time in her career that she has scored more than 20 points in a game. Her previous high of 16 points was reached twice during her freshman campaign in 2012-13.

Heather LaFontaine went into the game looking for someone to step up offensively with
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.) out with an injury, who leads the OCAA averaging 25 points per game.
Durham will have the weekend off before a pivotal match-up against the George Brown Huskies on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Game time at the CRWC is 6 p.m. In their first conference meeting of the season, Durham ended up edging out the Huskies by three points (61-58).
