OCAA Men's VolleyballDurham defeats Georgian 3-1 OSHAWA, Ont. – The season is far from over, but the Durham College men's volleyball team can breathe a little easier knowing that they have clinched first place in the OCAA East Division.
Durham defeated the Georgian Grizzlies 3-1 (25-21, 25-15, 27-29, 25-23) at the CRWC on Wednesday night to improve to 15-0 on the season.
Nick Coleman (Brooklin, Ont.) led the team with 13 kills and three blocks.
Erik Janssen (Hampton, Ont.) and
Petrus Kuypers (Haydon, Ont.) each added 12 kills apiece, with Janssen also picking up three blocks.
Team captain
Jeremy Hoekstra (Cobourg, Ont.) had two blocks, which now gives him 100 in his career with the Lords. He also picked up eight kills in the match.
Matt Boucher led the Grizzlies with 11 kills and 13 digs, while Darien Haynes had 10 kills and four blocks.
The Lords are in action again Saturday at George Brown. The first serve is 3 p.m.
