OCAA Women's Basketball: St. Lawrence defeats Durham 91-54 KINGSTON, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team knew they were in tough matching up against the No. 7 ranked St. Lawrence Vikings on Wednesday. The Vikes entered the night on a six-game win streak while sporting a 6-0 record on home court.
They would continue their dominance coming up with a 91-54 rout over Durham to improve to 13-1 and move one step closer to clinching the OCAA east region title.
St. Lawrence led from start-to-finish, as they opened up a 26-8 lead after 10 minutes. Things did not get any better for Durham as the game went on, as the Vikes held a 47-20 lead at the half.
Durham's offence would improve as they put up 34 points in the second half, but St. Lawrence would record their second highest offensive output of the season, walking away with a 91-54 victory.
The lone bright spot for Durham on the scoresheet was the nation's leading scorer
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.), who ended the evening with 32 points in the loss. This marks the fourth time in 11 games the sport management major has scored at least 30 points.
Jackie Rodgerson was 5-for-6 from beyond the arc as she recorded a team-high 24 points while Sammy Gourdier finished with 17.
The Lords (8-6) sit in fourth place in the OCAA east region standings, four points ahead of the Loyalist Lancers (6-6) who have two games in hand. Durham will host the second place Algonquin Thunder (11-1) next Friday night (Feb. 13) before matching up against Loyalist on Feb. 20 in Belleville.
