KINGSTON, Ont. – The final tuneup for the Durham College men's soccer team before the OCAA season wrapped up with the Lords falling 2-1 to the Queen's Gaels on Wednesday afternoon.
Ryan Cullen (Pickering, Ont.) opened the scoring for Durham, but just before the half the Gaels knotted the game 1-1.

Kevon Grant (Oshawa, Ont.) to hand the Lords the loss and give them a 1-2-0 preseason record prior to their friendly Campus Cup match against the UOIT Ridgebacks on Sept. 4.
"This team continues to come together and against a well-respected Queen's team we showed a lot of positives," said head coach
Dave Ashfield. "Now we will take some time to train and work towards conference play and ensuring we know what works best for our group. We do have a different look to our team from last year, but with a strong core returning and some great first-year players we expect to be competitive again."
The annual Campus Cup will be the official reopening of Vaso's Field, which has recently had FIFA-certified sports turf installed. Durham and UOIT face each other annually in a 50-minute match as part of orientation week as the Lords look for bragging rights on campus.
Durham opens their regular season on Saturday, Sept. 8 against the Algonquin Thunder on Vaso's Field. Kick off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
