OSHAWA, Ont. – The annual Campus Cup continues to draw a larger crowd year over year, solidifying itself as back to school staple as over 1,700 students packed Vaso's Field on Tuesday evening.
Fans didn't walk home empty handed, with hundreds of free t-shirts, school swag and other giveaways handed out. Harvey's graciously managed the BBQ, there was a free ice cream truck and fans competed for an iPad during a classic game of heads or tails.
In the women's game, DC held their own and stayed in it the entire match, however two goals from the Ridgebacks secured their Campus Cup title, taking the trophy back from DC, who won it in 2024.
Ontario Tech struck first in the men's match that followed and the Lords would tie it up in the second half. With a DC goal waved off in the dying minutes as the flag raised for an offside, the match would be decided by penalties for the second time in three years. Jaden Grant stepped up to the spot with the game on the line, sending the keeper the other way to win Durham's third consecutive Campus Cup on the men's side.
