NORTH BAY, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team ended their first weekend of preseason action with a loss on the road to the Nipissing Lakers.
Due to weather on Friday night, the first game was called because of a power outage with the Lords trailing 67-61 in the final four minutes of the game. They followed that with a 78-58 loss on Saturday afternoon.
Maddie Dender (Ajax, Ont.) led Durham College with 21 points on Friday night.
Dekota Kirby (Markham, Ont.) finished with 11.
On Saturday, rookie
Marie Stasiuk (Cobourg, Ont.) led with 18 points, followed closely by
Chyvon Thomas (Ajax, Ont.) with 12 points.
Next weekend the team is in Hamilton for more exhibition play against the Redeemer Royals, Mohawk Mountainners and St. Clair Saints
