WELLAND, Ont. – After a tough five-setter to open their first action of 2019, the Lords men's volleyball team then fell in their second match of the annual Niagara Invitational.
Durham opened the day with a pair of wins 25-23 and 28-26 over the CMU Blazers, but that is when their day started to go downhill. From there the Blazers won the following two sets 25-20 and 25-12 to force a deciding set.
Unfortunately, the Lords came up two points short of the win, losing 15-13.
Their second match of the day was not as kind as they were swept 3-0 (15-25, 20-25, 23-25) by the host Niagara Knights.
Action continues on Saturday with a match against the Redeemer Royals at 9 a.m., followed by playoff matches. Stay tuned to @DurhamLords on Twitter and durhamlords.com for updates on how the weekend wraps up.
