OSHAWA, Ont. - Hosting a dozen of the best men's volleyball teams in the province, the Durham Lords men's volleyball team concluded the second day of the event with two straight set victories.
The Humber Hawks claimed the Adidas Cup championship, defeating the Niagara Knight 3-0 in the final match of the tournament. The podium was rounded out by the Ottawa Gee-Gees after they topped the Loyalist Lancers 3-1 in the bronze medal match. Humber's Rrezart Sadiku was named tournament MVP.
In round-robin play, the Lords opened the tournament with a 2-1 record on Day 1. DC then went on to seep Day 2 with victories over the Cambrian Golden Shield and the Fleming Knights.
Following an extensive preseason, the Lords now begin their 2019-20 OCAA campaign in the nation's capital with a matchup against the Algonquin Thunder on Saturday, Oct. 19. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. with the action being streamed on
