OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's volleyball team hit the court for the first time this fall, dropping the St. Clair Saints in straight sets in a Friday night exhibition match at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre. Set scores for the contest were 25-13, 25-16, 25-16.

Entering his first full season as head coach of the Durham Lords program, Mike Hubicki has revamped the men's volleyball roster with a mix of veteran saavy and young talent.

12 players made an appearance in at least one set for the green and gold in the preseason matchup, with third-year veteran Andrew Dube (Uxbridge, Ont.) leading the way in his return to the Lords lineup, scoring six points from six kills in two sets of action. Fifth-year vet Tyler Krabi (Stouffville, Ont.) added five points for DC from four kills and one block.

Guiding the offence for Durham was former Georgian College standout and OCAA serving ace record holder Liam Gray (Barrie Ont.), registering 14 assists in two sets of work, while adding three service aces and one block for good measure. Defensively for the Lords, former Seneca Sting athlete Sidney Wilding (Oshawa, Ont.) finished with a game-high six digs.

Durham and St. Clair will face off again tomorrow afternoon with first serve scheduled for 3 p.m.
