ANCASTER, Ont. - The Durham College women's basketball team picked up their second win in as many days defeating the Redeemer Royals in a preseason contest 64-63 on Saturday afternoon,
"We did a great job on the boards today and that really helped us capitalize on some key opportunities," said Lords head coach Heather Lafontaine. "Our rebounding helped us at both ends of the court and opened our transition up which is the kind of pace we know we can have success at.."
Andrea Zulich (Sudbury, Ont.) scored a team-high 19 points for the Lords in the win, while 2018-19 OCAA women's basketball rookie of the year
Marie Stasiuk notched a double-double with 16 points and an impressive 22 rebounds.
DC next heads north for a trio of exhibition games in North Bay beginning on Friday, Oct. 4 versus the St. Clair Saints. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
