MONTREAL, ON - Making their return to the court, the Durham College women's basketball team split a series of exhibition matches in Montreal this week, falling to the Montmerency NomadesĀ 69-46 on Friday before defeating the John Abbott Islanders 70-41 on Saturday.
"Our Friday night game with Montmerency was really good competition, but we gassed out a little in the second half," mentioned Lords head coach Heather Lafontaine. "It was a good start though because we then rebounded to lead the entire way on Saturday versus John Abbott. All the players contributed to the win, great team play all weekend long, and a great start to our preseason."
The Lords will see plenty of preseason action this fall as the OCAA season will not be commencing until the new year. The first OCAA regular season game is set for Friday, Jan. 7 when DC travel to Kingston to face the St. Lawrence Surge.
