BRAMPTON, ON - The Durham College women's basketball team continued their preseason schedule on Wednesday night, defeating the Sheridan Bruins 81-52 on the back of a strong second half push.

Jillian Thompson (Oshawa, ON) led the way for the Lords with a game-high 25 points in 28 minutes, adding eight rebounds, three assists and a steal to round out her stat line. Also reaching double-digits in the win for DC,
Marie Stasiuk (Cobourg, ON) recorded a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Five more Lords scored six or more points, with Durham dominating the paint, outrebounding the Bruins 61-43, while outscoring Sheridan in the paint 32-16. Not to be underestimated, the Lords defense also impressed, holding the Bruins to just 26 percent shooting from the floor and under 10 percent shooting from behind the three point line.
Durham next heads to Sarnia for three contests over the coming weekend, beginning on Friday, Nov. 12 against the host Lambton Lions. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. with the exhibition contests available to watch
