Box Score SUDBURY, ON – The Durham Lords picked up three points in Sudbury on Saturday against the Cambrian Golden Shield.
Durham took the lead early as Isaiah Wisdom (Whitby, ON) scored his fourth goal of the season in the 9th minute. Near halftime, Wisdom scored his team-leading fifth goal to push the Lords ahead by two goals going into the break.
The Lords continued to apply pressure early on in the second half, with Deandre Watkis (Ajax, ON) scoring his fourth goal of the year on a set-up from Wisdom who already had two of his own to that point.
Skylar Grey (Ajax, ON) finished off the scoring for the Lords in the 82nd minute with his fourth of the 2022 campaign.
Three minutes later the hosts scored their first and only goal in the match, as the Lords would have a 4-1 lead at the final whistle in the 90th minute. Durham outshot Cambrian 15-10 in the match, with nine shots on target.
Garrett Werner (Ajax, ON) was tested six times, making five saves.
The Lords make their way home sitting fifth in the OCAA East Division through eight matches with two left on the schedule. Durham return to the pitch on Saturday, October 15 in Ottawa.
