OSHAWA, ON – The Durham Lords men's volleyball team finished their trip to Ottawa with a win in three sets over the La Cité Coyotes.
After coming up short in three very close sets against the Algonquin Wolves the night before, the Lords beat the Coyotes 25-19 in the first two sets and then finished the afternoon off with a 25-21 win in the third and final set.
With 7.0 points, William Egan (Cobden, ON) was the leader in points for Durham on the afternoon. Egan finished with a team-leading seven kills. Josh Clarke (Oshawa, ON) was nearby with five kills on seven attempts. The Lords earned seven service aces, with two each from Tyler Jegen (Calgary, AB), Josh Padmore (Hamilton, ON), Aidan Carne (Stoney Creek, ON) and Mitchell Abaza (Thornton, ON), while Kyle Travis (Courtice, ON) served one.
At the net, Sidney Stuart (Everett, ON), Carter Reid (Oshawa, ON) and Travis each registered a blocked shot. Travis had 15 of the Lords' 26 assists, with Kristian Don Ruiz (Scarborough, ON) picking up nine and Jegen and Padmore earned a single each.
Durham will make the trip to Centennial College for their third consecutive road match before returning home on Sunday, November 20 against the La Cité Coyotes.
