Taking place at École de technologie supérieure, the largest LAN Party in Canada will feature the Durham Lords this weekend. The event includes four PC tournaments and four console tournaments over 48 hours with more than $20,000 in cash prizes.

Games played at the tournament are CS:GO, Dota 2, Guilty Gear -Strive-, League of Legends, Rainbox Six Siege, Rocket League, Starcraft 2, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros Melee, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Valorant. Six of which Durham fields competitive teams throughout the year.

"Each year more than 1,000 gamers compete in several tournaments for their chance to win over $20,000 in prize money," reads the tournament website. "We are a non-profit organization dedicated to offering the best LAN Party experience to our attendees. Our executive members are future engineers with a passion for video games and event organization."

The event first took place in 2002 with 213 attendees and has taken place annually since. In 2018, LAN ETS had over 3,800 attendees. This will be the first edition of the event in person after it was held online in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After being relocated to Palais des congrès de Montréal in 2019, it is back at École de technologie supérieure, where it all began, to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Participants are expected from across mostly Québec, Ontario and the Northeastern United States, as well as beyond.
