Box Score OSHAWA, ON – With their second win of the season, the Lords remain unbeaten through three matches to start the season with a 4-1 win over the Cambrian Golden Shield.
Cambrian jumped ahead early in the 22
nd minute to take a 1-0 lead over the hosts. Only 15 minutes later,
Anthony Barrese (Oshawa, ON) replied for the Lords off a corner kick in the 37
th minute to send the teams into halftime tied at one.
Less than 10 minutes into the second half,
Deandre Watkis (Ajax, ON) scored his first goal of the season as the Lords would take their first lead of the game.
20 minutes later,
William Lyden (Oshawa, ON) fired a rocket from over 20 yards out into the upper half of the net to beat the goalkeeper and give the Lords a two-goal lead. In the dying seconds
Isaiah Wisdom (Whitby, ON) found the back of the net to give the Lords a three-goal lead and an eventual 4-1 final result.
Garrett Werner (Ajax, ON) stopped four of five shots on target in the match, while Lyden and
Skylar Grey (Ajax, ON) led the way for the Lords in terms of shots, each taking a total of three with two on target.
With a quick turnaround, the Lords host the Sault Cougars at Vaso's Field on Sunday afternoon with kick-off expected to take place at 3:15 PM.
