Box Score KINGSTON, ON - The #11 nationally ranked Durham Lords suffered their first loss of the season in a last minute heartbreaker to the St. Lawrence Surge.
St. Lawrence opened the scoring in the 17th minute and held a 1-0 lead through 45 minutes.
In the second half, Deandre Watkis (Ajax, ON) tied it up three minutes over the hour mark. In the 76th minute, Evan Amaral (Erin, ON) gave the Lords their first lead of the match.
Jacob Ball responded in the 81st minute for his second goal of the evening to tie it up at two goals a piece, and the Surge scored again in the 89th minute to hand the Lords their first loss of the year.
Garrett Werner (Ajax, ON) stopped six of nine shots on target. The Surge took a total of 34 shots on Friday evening.
The Lords are back in action at home on Friday, September 30 against the Fleming Knights. Kick-off at Vaso's Field is expected to take place at 8:15 PM.
