BELLEVILLE, ON - Back in the win column, the Durham College men's volleyball team defeated the Loyalist Lancers on the road on Saturday in five sets.
Loyalist had a strong start with a 25-14 victory in the opening set, but the Lords responded in the second with a 25-22 win to tie the match up through two.
Going back and forth, Loyalist would take the third set 25-19 before Durham won to keep their day alive by a 25-18 score to force a tiebreaker fifth set.
This would be the only time where either side won two sets in a row as the Lords battled to a 15-12 fifth set win to put an end to a two-match losing streak and get back in the win column.
Tyler Jegen (Calgary, AB) and William Egan (Cobden, ON) were the offensive leaders with 15.0 and 14.0 points, respectively. Jegen finished the day with 11 kills, four service aces and seven digs while Egan posted seven kills, five service aces, seven digs and a pair of blocked shots.
Jack Egan (Cobden, ON) and Josh Padmore (Hamilton, ON) also had themselves a day, with seven kills each.
Playmaking duties were split between Kyle Travis (Courtice, ON) and Benjamin Rocheleau (Stouffville, ON), with Travis earning 23 assists and Rocheleau assisting the other 10.
Will Doucet (Toronto, ON) tied W. Egan for the team lead in blocked shots on the day with two.
With the win, the Lords improve to 3-3 on the season with a winning 2-1 record away from home.
