BELLEVILLE, ON - The Durham College women's volleyball team suffered their first loss of the regular season against the Loyalist Lancers on Saturday.
The Lancers constructed an early lead, taking the opening two sets 25-20 and 25-22.
Durham began a comeback in the third set, winning 25-19 before forcing a fifth and final set with a 25-16 win in the fourth.
It was back and forth until the end, however a strong Lancers finish won them the set 15-12 and the match 3-2.
Aislinn Pedersen (Hamilton, ON) had 40 total attack attempts on the night with 14 kills. She recorded 13 digs and served one ace, finishing with 15.0 points.
Amanda Larsen (Toronto, ON) had a team leading 19.0 points with 11 kills, one service ace and a team-high eight blocked shots. Chanel Ethier (Ottawa, ON) also impressed with nine kills, one blocked shot and 12 digs. Chelsea Oke (Brooklin, ON) led the way in digs with 16.
Brooke Young (Chestermere, AB) assisted 36 times across two sets, also adding nine digs, one service ace and a single kill.
The Lords will have an opportunity ahead of them to bounce back into the win column at home on Friday, November 17 against the Algonquin Wolves at 6:00 PM.
