OSHAWA, ON - The Durham College women's volleyball team are back in the win column, sweeping the Algonquin Wolves on Friday evening.
The Lords remain perfect at home, having won 3-0 in all four home matches to begin the 2023-24 OCAA season so far.
Durham won the first set 25-22, which would be the closest competition of the evening. The Lords took the second set 25-17 and the third set 25-20 to complete the sweep and finish the match early in the evening.
Aislinn Pedersen (Hamilton, ON) was in double-digit territory in kills for the second time this season, recording 12 kills in only three sets. Her four kills per set has been her best ratio of the season to date. Pedersen also added 1Â digs on the night.
Chelsea Oke (Brooklin, ON) stood out with six kills and four service aces to go along with 14 digs, while Chanel Ethier (Ottawa, ON) posted seven kills, 10Â digs and a blocked shot.
Amanda Larsen (Toronto, ON), the OCAA's leader in blocks per set, earned another three at the net against Algonquin. Jenna MacFarlane (Fredericton, NB) was among the team-leaders in digs with 12.
Moving into the OCAA's top three in total assists, Brooke Young (Chestermere, AB) assisted 30 times to push her season total over 200.
